With nearly 13,000 colleagues across more than 70 countries, cultural diversity is one of SoftwareOne’s greatest strengths. Culture Days bring that diversity to life by creating opportunities for colleagues around the world to connect, learn from one another, and celebrate what makes each culture unique.
The Culture Day tradition began more than 15 years ago as a locally driven initiative and rooted in our people-first culture. As SoftwareOne expanded globally, the program evolved into a companywide tradition designed to keep the focus on the people at the heart of the organization.
“When we started Culture Days, it was because we recognized that we are a global company and wanted to talk more openly about our cultural diversity and create awareness for each other,” said SoftwareOne Co-CEO Raphael Erb. “Culture Days help us learn from one another by understanding local traditions, ways of working, and what makes each country unique. By celebrating different cultures together, we also strengthen collaboration across borders.”
From the beginning, Culture Days have gone beyond geography, highlighting not only different countries but also local traditions, values, and ways of working. What began as a program featuring four countries each year has grown alongside our global footprint and, following our recent combination with Crayon, now reflects an even broader cultural perspective.
In recent years, Culture Days have evolved into a more interactive, video experience that offers colleagues a personal window into life around the world. Instead of static facts and trivia, employees share firsthand stories, traditions, and local experiences, often filmed on location.
Last year, colleagues from across the organization contributed videos and photos that brought their cultures to life. In Denmark, colleagues introduced the holiday of Fastelavn, its traditional pastries, and the country’s passion for handball. In Colombia, teams shared insights into the warmth, kindness, and resilience that define Colombian culture, along with the importance of coffee as a cultural cornerstone. In Australia, the outdoors took center stage through a bushwalk and beachside videos that reflected the country’s strong connection to nature.
Our Norway Culture Day was especially meaningful, marking the first celebration following the welcoming of approximately 4,000 new colleagues through our integration with Crayon, headquartered in Oslo.
Colleagues based in Norway shared videos showcasing different aspects of Norwegian culture, from the dramatic coastline to the midnight sun and northern lights, as well as the cherished tradition of cabin culture. The celebration also introduced the concept of dugnad, the practice of voluntary collective work for a shared purpose, which reflects the Norwegian spirit of solidarity and togetherness.
Culture Days continue to evolve as part of SoftwareOne’s global Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) strategy, which is anchored in five pillars: ability, ethnicity, gender, LGBTQIA+, and social mobility. Culture Days now serve as one of the flagship global initiatives supporting these pillars.
In 2026, Culture Days are expanding to reflect SoftwareOne’s newly broadened global presence, covering two countries that joined the organization last year.
Our first Culture Day of the year was earlier this month where teams in offices worldwide organized shared lunches featuring Czech cuisine and interactive quizzes developed by colleagues in Prague.
“Culture Day at SoftwareOne is a pleasant addition to our regular working day,” said Office and Facility manager Ivana Beberova. “In the Czech Republic, we always try to capture the atmosphere of the country being celebrated with something that reflects the chosen country’s traditions and our colleagues always enjoy it. This year having the Czech Republic chosen as a country was a big event for us, and we were honored to be celebrated around the world.”
Upcoming Culture Days will spotlight Iceland, Portugal, the Dominican Republic, Austria, Vietnam, and Canada.
As the program continues to grow, Culture Days remain a powerful reminder that while our colleagues span continents and cultures, our shared culture is built on our core values of integrity, momentum, passion, accountability, customer focus, and trust.
