As part of Women’s History Month, SoftwareOne hosted global and local initiatives in March focused on women across the business. Colleagues shared experiences, highlighted leadership, and strengthened our Women in Tech community.

Spotlight on Women in Tech

SoftwareOne has a growing employee resource group focused on Women in Tech. Its 10 chapters around the world were asked to nominate women in the business to be featured in a profile series called Spotlight on Women in Tech.

To bring the series to life, we hosted a virtual fireside chat featuring five of those women: Melanie Coffee, Norway; Stefanie Lehmann, Germany; Priscilla Lewis, UK; Flor Silesky, Costa Rica; and Priya Tewari, India. Hundreds of employees joined the session that focused on career journeys, psychological safety, and the value of diverse perspectives across the business.

“Thank you to everyone who participated in our activities this month focused on women in tech,” said Co-CEO Melissa Mulholland. “Inclusion is built in everyday moments by making space for different perspectives and ensuring people feel seen and heard. We are committed to supporting everyone to grow, lead, and shape the future of technology.”

“Keeping Inclusion Moving”

As part of International Women’s Day on March 11, the UK’s Women in Tech chapter hosted a virtual panel titled “Keeping Inclusion Moving.” The discussion brought together representatives from customers Spinnaker Support and Sportradar, alongside Google, to share perspectives on working in tech and the diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging landscape.

The conversation also explored the role of internal and external networks, the importance of leadership support, and how organizations continue to make progress during challenging times.

“Give to Gain” and Collaboration

Reflecting this year’s International Women’s Day theme “Give to Gain”, a group of global leaders shared their perspectives on collaboration. They reflected on what they have given as well as what they have gained from working closely with others.

International Women’s Day around the world

In addition to our global events, several of our offices celebrated International Women’s Day. Our Mexican team hosted a session on personal branding, while our Norway office held a panel discussion on the meaning of International Women’s Day and how we can ensure women are motivated to join, grow, and thrive within the tech industry. In Bulgaria, colleagues came together for a painting and wine pairing workshop, creating space for informal conversation, creativity, and connection.

Our Colombian teams marked the day with in-person sessions in Bogotá and Medellín, as well as a virtual talk on women’s empowerment. Our Thailand and Philippines offices hosted a series of wellbeing events and a film screening.

Finally, on March 24, we also celebrated Iceland Culture Day as part of our Culture Days tradition. We specifically chose to feature Iceland this month, given its long-standing leadership in gender equality, including more than a decade at the top of the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Index.

Across all these activities, one theme stood out: the power of shared experiences and learning from one another. Thank you to everyone who participated.
