The digital journey began on Teisenbergstrasse in Freilassing. Max Aicher GmbH & Co. KG aimed to make its workplace of the future a reality, utilizing Microsoft 365 as the key technology. Beyond new software, the company’s objective was to establish a new understanding of collaboration, flexibility, and security. At the heart of this was a clear idea: users first. The needs of employees are the guiding principle for the use of technology and for change. Step-by-step to cloud migration
The project began with an honest assessment of the existing IT infrastructure, followed by a ‘cloud readiness check’. This provided early information about the maturity levels across each business area. It became clear that the conditions for a complete migration were not the same everywhere.

Based on these findings, a targeted approach was developed that is technically precise and always considers the people in the company.
A Strategic Partnership for IT Transformation
The project focused on introducing Microsoft 365 as the foundation for ‘MaxAicher.Place’, the company’s internal name for its digital workplace. The project team embedded the transformation in a well-thought-out roadmap with clear priorities.
- Security Concept: Development of a tailor-made plan to secure all data and systems
- Exchange Online & Hybrid Solutions: Implementation and configuration of Microsoft Exchange Online, including migration of email data and integration into the new environment
- Connection to Microsoft Entra ID (ME-ID) Connect: Seamless integration for secure user management
- Baseline Security & Governance: Implementation of proven security policies and governance structures. Compliance with the GDPR, including the creation of a data protection impact assessment (DPIA)
- Teams & SharePoint: New forms of collaboration: networked, modern, mobile
- Basic setup of the Microsoft tenant: Central control of all Microsoft services
