A new Microsoft To-Do feature makes it easier to keep up with any backlog! Emails can be converted into tasks and then processed one-by-one in the To-Do app. Our expert explains how the new feature works.

Every new day begins with a morning routine that no-one can escape, however much they might like to – checking emails. So, you launch Outlook and realize that a whole batch of new messages has arrived in your inbox to add its already swamped condition.

Some of the emails you can answer directly, while others do not require any action and can be immediately deleted. But at the end of the scale are the important messages that require your complete attention.

Combined with Outlook, Microsoft To-Do can be a genuine assistance here. The latest update of the To-Do app (from Version 1.52) lets you convert an email into a task (flagged email). At present, lots of Outlook Rich Text Editor their emails as a to-do list, which makes the feature extremely practical as a way of perfecting one’s personal organization.

Among other things, you can add a deadline, reminder or even personal notes to the Microsoft 365 To-Do task. In addition, the created task previews a snippet of the email that you can use to access the full message in Outlook.

What’s more, the deep integration of Microsoft To-Do within the Outlook environment lets you show all of your tasks in the bottom section of your Outlook calendar. You will therefore see the day’s tasks that you want to be reminded of and need to complete.

Naturally, the created tasks are accessible in the To-Do app on Windows 10, iOS and Android devices as well.

Enabling the Microsoft To-Do Flagged Email

  • Sign into your Office 365 account
  • Launch the Microsoft To-Do app in your browser
  • Once the Microsoft To-Do online app has started, it will ask you in the bottom left-hand corner whether you want to enable “Flagged Email”, which you do by selecting “Show List”
  • You will be able to use the Flagged Email feature in Outlook as soon as it is enabled

As things stand, only users of Office 365 with an enterprise or student account can enable the feature.

Summary

Microsoft To-Do Flagged Email is a quick and easy way to turn your emails into tasks, ensuring that important messages can no longer slip through your fingers. It’s a simple but powerful feature that will help you stay on top of your day-to-day routines
