AWS

AWS announces general availability of AWS AppFabric to enhance leading SaaS applications for improved productivity and security. AWS AppFabric allows IT and security teams to quickly manage and secure applications, and generative AI can increase employee productivity.

AWS Supply Chain extends availability in two additional AWS Regions and AWS Network Firewall is available in four additional AWS Regions.

AWS Application Migration service now supports multi-account migrations. This new capability, which is intended for big businesses, uses AWS organisations to let users manage visibility and inventory right from the AWS application migration service interface.

IBM

IBM to support Internal Revenue Services (IRS) new $2.6B, IT modernisation program. This critical technology modernisation program will modernise existing IRS IT systems, improve cyber security, expand advanced analytics capabilities.

IBM acquires Apptio Inc., a leader in financial and operational IT management and optimisation software, for $4.6 billion. This will advance IBM's existing resource optimisation, observability and application management offerings, maximize value for clients and drive significant synergies across several IBM growth areas.

Microsoft

Microsoft rebrands Azure Active directory to Microsoft Entra ID and expands into security service edge by adding two new products, Microsoft Entra Internet Access and Microsoft Entra Private Access.

Dev-optimised, cloud-based workstations - Microsoft Dev Box is now generally available.

General availability of Azure Data Manager for Energy - Designed to help energy companies accelerate digital innovation, Azure Data Manager for Energy is an open, fully managed OSDU™ Data Platform service powered by the Microsoft Cloud.

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is ranked number one in market share. Total Market size is $13.1 billion with an increase of +29.2%. Microsoft share is 18.9% with growth of more than 108.9%.

Oracle

Oracle named a leader in IDC marketscapes for point-of-sale software for large apparel and softlines retail and price optimisation solutions.

SAP

SAP’s credit rating upgraded to A+ by Standard and Poor’s due to the successful cloud transition, history of swift deleveraging, and significant cash creation.

SAP completes sale of its stake in Qualtrics as Silver Lake and CPP Investments complete Qualtrics acquisition. SAP will remain a close go-to-market and technology partner to Qualtrics, servicing joint customers and continuing to contribute to their success.

Microsoft released the .NET MAUI extension for Visual Studio Code. The first preview of the .NET MAUI extension, which, paired with C# Dev Kit, gives you the tools that one need to develop the cross-platform .NET mobile and desktop apps with VS Code on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

SAP advances vision of business AI with investments in Aleph Alpha, Anthropic and Cohere to complement $1+ billion AI commitment from Sapphire Ventures.

Oracle introduces generative AI capabilities to help HR boost productivity. The new capabilities are embedded in existing HR processes to drive faster business value, improve productivity, enhance the candidate and employee experience, and streamline HR processes.

Microsoft and  Meta expand their AI partnership with Llama 2 on Azure and Windows. Llama 2 is designed to enable developers and organisations to build generative AI-powered tools and experiences.

Microsoft Windows 365 Frontline generally available. The first Windows solution designed to meet the distinct needs of shift and part-time employees. Instead of the common hassles that come with sharing physical PCs, Windows 365 Frontline provides Cloud PCs - freeing your frontline employees to work from anywhere, helping to boost their productivity, and improving job satisfaction.

New AI-powered Microsoft shopping tools arrive on the new Bing and Edge. This help the customer to shop and save with confidence, harnessing the power of AI to make it easier to discover, research, and complete their purchase, all in one place with information they need from expert sources.
