AWS

AWS Resilience Hub now supports PCI requirements, providing customers with tools to assess and improve application resilience. Customers who have PCI requirements can now use AWS Resilience Hub to assess and improve the resilience of their applications.

AWS announced the general availability of Amazon Neptune I/O-Optimized, a new configuration for Amazon Neptune Database that provides improved price performance and predictable pricing for customers with I/O-intensive applications.

The AWS IoT Device Management Software Package Catalog is now available in the AWS GovCloud (US) Regions, allowing users to manage up to 10,000 software package versions and associated metadata for improved control.

Amazon Neptune now supports its data APIs in the AWS SDKs, allowing developers to access over 40 data plane APIs for tasks such as data loading and query execution.

AWS Resource Explorer now supports 65 additional resource types from various services, expanding the range of resources that customers can search for and discover.

IBM

IBM is expanding its enterprise networking portfolio with new offerings for Cisco networking, including support and implementation services for Software Defined Networking and Network Health Check, to help clients build a more integrated and resilient networking environment.

IBM has introduced the IBM LinuxONE 4 Express, a rack mount system designed to bring the latest performance, security, and AI capabilities of LinuxONE to small and medium businesses and new data center environments.

Microsoft

Microsoft is expanding its cloud infrastructure in Europe to support the growing demand for AI capabilities and provide efficient, scalable, and sustainable compute power.

Microsoft Copilot for Sales and Copilot for Service are now generally available. Microsoft Copilot for Sales and Copilot for Service bring AI capabilities to streamline business processes and enhance productivity for sales and customer service professionals.

The Microsoft Intune Suite now offers three new solutions: Enterprise Application Management, Advanced Analytics, and Cloud PKI, extending its capabilities beyond unified endpoint management.

Microsoft Azure Elastic SAN simplifies migrating extensive SAN environments to the cloud, providing efficiency and ease for enterprise-class storage solutions.

Microsoft Education offers new tools and experiences to enhance reading skills, collaboration, and content creation for teachers and students. Educators can access AI literacy training, Copilot expansions, and Microsoft Loop for flexible collaboration.

Oracle

Oracle plans to open a public cloud region in Nairobi, Kenya, to meet the growing demand for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services across Africa. The planned public cloud region aims to drive the digital transformation of the Kenyan government, public institutions, enterprises, startups, universities, and investors in Kenya and the continent.

Oracle's new logistics capabilities in Oracle Cloud SCM aim to increase visibility, reduce costs, automate compliance, and improve decision-making for organizations facing supply chain challenges.

Oracle's U.S. Government Cloud now offers 16 new FedRAMP approved services, including AI, DevOps, and security capabilities, totaling 93 authorised services for federal agencies and partners.

SAP

SAP is collaborating with UC Berkeley's Sky Computing Lab to advance research on interconnected cloud technology and AI applications, aiming to build hundreds of applications.

Tech news

Microsoft's annual global online safety survey revealed that, while there is growing excitement and adoption of generative AI, there are also significant concerns about potential risks associated with the technology. Microsoft has released new online safety resources, including a Family Safety Toolkit and an educational game from Minecraft.

Microsoft is collaborating with news organisations to implement generative AI in newsrooms, with focus on supporting journalists, fostering healthy news organisations, and leveraging AI to help newsrooms grow audiences and streamline tasks while maintaining the essential function of informing the world.

Microsoft is dedicated to helping organisations navigate NIS2 compliance through proactive defense, innovative strategies, and deep legal understanding, especially through the use of cloud technology. The Network and Information Security Directive 2 (NIS2) is an expansion of the EU cybersecurity directive, aiming to enhance cybersecurity measures and reporting obligations for digital service providers and operators of essential services.

The updated Copilot experience now includes a streamlined look, new image creation capabilities, and a dedicated canvas for visualisation, making it easier for users to unleash their creativity.

AWS has expanded its presence in Turkey by launching a new Amazon CloudFront edge location in İstanbul, offering customers up to a 30% improvement in latency and performance.

Oracle's Enterprise Communications Platform (ECP) seamlessly connects industry applications to networks and IoT devices, enabling organisations to reimagine their business operations. ECP, built on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), offers integrated IoT device management and real-time communication capabilities to enhance cloud services for industries such as healthcare, public safety, hospitality, and energy.

Oracle has been named the leader in B2B customer data platforms by Forrester. The report recognised Oracle unity customer data platform (cdp), part of Oracle fusion cloud marketing, as the leader with the highest score in the current offering category.

The collaboration between the GSMA and IBM aims to bridge the skills gap in the telecom industry by offering AI training programs and access to IBM's watsonx platform.
