Acrobat Sign and qualified signatures with D-Trust
Certain business processes require qualified electronic signatures (QES), which meet the highest legal standards. Adobe Acrobat Sign integrates with D-Trust, a qualified trust service provider under eIDAS, to support this type of signature. This allows even the most complex signature processes to be implemented digitally and in a legally compliant manner.
How exactly does this work? First, users authenticate themselves using a secure identification process that complies with eIDAS requirements. Each subsequent signature request is then approved via a secure D-Trust signature server, such as through two-factor authentication. Acrobat Sign manages the entire process, while D-Trust generates the legally binding signature. This creates a seamless workflow in which identity verification, signature generation, and document protection are technically separate but fully integrated.
There are various secure methods available for initial identity verification, including the online ID function of the national ID card and video identification.
