Competitive Advantage Isn’t AI. It’s your Data.

Join SoftwareOne and Microsoft at the Porsche Experience Centre on Thursday 12th March to learn how data can become your competitive advantage.

The event features three interactive sessions focused on how organisations can better manage, govern, and activate data to drive analytics and AI outcomes. Topics include the impact of data gravity and inertia on cloud and architecture decisions, breaking down data silos by treating data as a product, and building the data maturity, governance, and application foundations required to realise AI value. Each session is designed to encourage open discussion and Q&A with the audience. Plus, we’ll be joined by a guest speaker from Microsoft to share with us the latest capabilities in Microsoft Fabric.

Agenda:

Strategic Data Management as the Foundation for AI Value AI success depends less on “perfect data” and more on pragmatic, evolving data capability. Tactical improvements can deliver value now while building toward maturity. Robust governance, metadata, architectural flexibility (cloud, on-prem, edge), and application modernisation were all framed as prerequisites for turning AI insights into real business impact which is ultimately realised at the application layer. Bjoern Hirtenjohann
From Data Silos to Data as a Product Breaking down silos, both technical and political, by treating data as a governed, consumable product. Concepts like the bronze/silver/gold model, data mesh, domain ownership, and metadata will be positioned as ways to commoditise data so it can be trusted, shared broadly, and used by humans and AI alike, rather than locked away by teams or platforms. Jason Gray
Data Location Shapes Everything (Data Gravity & Inertia) Where data lives, fundamentally influences architecture, cost, and decision-making. Data gravity pulls applications toward large data stores, while data inertia makes moving data expensive and complex due to dependencies, latency, sovereignty, and security. These forces heavily impact cloud vs on-prem decisions, workload mobility, and long-term analytics and AI strategies. Bjoern Hirtenjohann
Peer Discussion: Innovation in Practice A chance to sit down with peers and talk honestly about progress, challenges and plans across data, AI and modernisation.

The afternoon concludes with a unique experiential element: three 45-minute driving sessions in Porsche cars on Porsche’s private race track adjacent to the Silverstone circuit, combining strategic insight with an unforgettable hands-on experience.

Discover how leading organisations unlock AI success by treating data as a product, unifying platforms, and building governance that accelerates outcomes.
