Cloud for Public Sector: Disaster Recovery & Cloud Adoption Frameworks

  • 07 October 2020 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Covid-19 has highlighted the importance of moving to the cloud. But as public sector grapples with a lack of resources and funding, making it a reality can be a challenge. This two-part webinar series run by SoftwareONE and Microsoft UK, will highlight a few of the areas local and regional government organisations can use cloud technologies to become more agile, enable work from anywhere, cut costs and ensure the efficient delivery of services, no matter what may happen next. We will also outline what Microsoft funding is available to support you on this journey.

In Part 1, our SoftwareONE cloud experts will focus on:

1. Cloud Adoption Frameworks

Before moving to the cloud, public sector organisations need to put in place the foundational building blocks to ensure a successful cloud journey. This includes an Azure Cloud Assessment, which provides insights into your current IT estate, how to optimise it and hybrid options. We’ll explain what this is and why it’s beneficial.

2. Disaster Recovery

Public sector organisations can save money and ensure business continuity by using the cloud. Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) can be deployed in days, charged for by the minute allowing the risk register to be reduced and the finances and the service assurances of the Council to be confidently met. We will explore Azure Site Recovery as a DR solution to cut costs, protect the organisation and provide a great step for future cloud migration.

3. Funding & Azure Credits

Microsoft provides funding through SoftwareONE to public sector customers starting their journey to the cloud and throughout the cloud maturity process. We’ll explain what’s available and who is eligible.
