Teams and Microsoft Places licensing changes are now live

Microsoft expanded access to several advanced Teams events and Microsoft Places capabilities effective April 1, 2026, including broader access to Places Finder and Places Explorer for users on qualifying licenses with calendar access in Outlook and Teams. Microsoft also confirmed broader access to event capabilities, including town halls with full interactivity for up to 3,000 attendees and the ability to scale to 100,000 participants through attendee packs. Windows Server and SQL Server CSP subscriptions now include License Mobility rights

Starting April 1, 2026, Microsoft says Windows Server and SQL Server subscriptions purchased under the Microsoft Customer Agreement through CSP now include License Mobility rights. Microsoft says this gives eligible subscription customers mobility benefits comparable to Software Assurance-era flexibility for shared environments and authorized outsourcing scenarios, while CSP perpetual licenses remain unchanged and do not gain these rights. Dragon Copilot pricing is being reduced beginning May 1

Microsoft announced that Dragon Copilot per-user licensing will move to a reduced list price beginning May 1, 2026 in all currently supported Dragon Copilot markets. Microsoft also said the Dragon Copilot Physician Practice offer will reach end of sale on May 1, and that ambient encounter and generative AI billing will move to a simplified per-encounter model.
