SoftwareOne sponsored at AWS re:Invent 2023, one of the largest cloud computing community annual events, held in Las Vegas. The event brought together more than 52,000 attendees from around the world. Key announcements and highlights

AWS re:Invent featured engaging keynote presentations, thought-provoking innovation talks, and interactive workshops covering a diverse array of topics, including a groundbreaking generative AI assistant specifically designed for professional use, next-generation AWS-engineered chips, and interactive labs, demos, and more.

AWS announced a range of innovations to help customers lower costs, become more agile, automate and innovate faster on AWS cloud, including:

  • Amazon Q

    A new expert assistant tailored to your business, designed to assist in building, deploying, and operating workloads on AWS. For contact centre agents, it efficiently and effectively addresses customer questions and provides timely solutions.

  • Next Generation AWS-designed chips

    Optimising performance, cost-effectiveness, and energy efficiency for running generative AI and other workloads.

  • Expanded choice of models on Amazon Bedrock

    A wider range of models available on Amazon Bedrock, enabling users to build and scale GenAI applications with greater flexibility.

  • SaaS Quick Launch in AWS Marketplace

    Simplified deployment of SaaS products through AWS Marketplace's new Quick Launch feature.

  • New Amazon SageMaker capabilities

    Enhanced tools for building, training, and deploying GenAI models on AWS. SoftwareOne is an AWS GenAI CoE prototyping partner.

Building stronger partnerships and customer relationships

SoftwareOne had the opportunity to connect with AWS experts, expand our network with fellow colleagues and partners, and foster closer relationships with customers such as Brainiall who we recently helped with AWS Cloud and Marketplace.

SoftwareOne highlights included:

  • AWS Partner Appreciation Awards: SoftwareOne executives were recognised as winners of the LATAM Federal Government Partner of the Year (PoY) and the Iberia Rising Star PoY awards. We were also a finalist in the EMEA SI and Global MSP PoY awards.
  • Exclusive invitation to the AWS Women in Leadership luncheon and networking event where Adam Selipsky spoke. The networking event honoured the impact of women in the workplace, provided learnings from their success stories, and strategies to overcome the challenges they face in leadership roles.
  • Interview with Alex Galbraith, SoftwareOne’s AWS CTO, on the value of attending an event like re:Invent.
  • Dimitrij Zub discussed AI with Geekwire in an insightful interview.
  • Lightning Talks in the Expo Hall: Nick Richards presented a captivating lightening talk on powering contact centres in the cloud with Amazon Connect with Freshworks. Stephen Bangs from NORAM shared insights on SAP resilience with Splunk.
  • Announcement of a new collaborative initiative to help clients transition to RISE with SAP on an AWS cloud environment. Combining SoftwareOne’s deep SAP advisory and implementation knowledge with AWS technologies, it expedites a client’s SAP transformation journey.
  • Several lucky winners took home excellent prizes from our daily raffle at the booth!

A celebration of innovation and collaboration

The SoftwareOne party at the Bellagio's Mayfair Supper Club provided a vibrant atmosphere for over 200 attendees to celebrate and connect with partners. The event also featured a live performance. And a big thank you to our sponsors for supporting SoftwareOne: Apptio, an IBM Company, Arctic Wolf, Flexera, Grammarly, IBM, Red Hat, SolarWinds, Veeam Software, Veritas Technologies LLC, VMware and Vonage.

The event concluded with the AWS re:Play party, starring DJ Major Laser in an amazing night of live music and entertainment open to everyone there.
