26 August is Women’s Equality Day – a day that intends to create awareness of all the areas where women worldwide are still fighting for equal opportunities in various spheres of life, including education, employment, leadership, and social participation.
Today we would like to focus on an initiative at SoftwareOne involving our long-term partnering organisation, PowerToFly. We joined forces with PowerToFly, a dynamic platform known for connecting companies like ours with talented professionals from diverse backgrounds.
Diversity is more than a buzzword; it's a crucial factor for success, especially in the tech world. Studies show that diverse teams bring a range of perspectives and ideas that drive innovation and better problem-solving. However, the tech industry still grapples with gender disparity. Women remain underrepresented, particularly in leadership roles and technical positions.

Our partnership with PowerToFly aims to change that. They're dedicated to empowering underrepresented talent, including women, across various backgrounds and identities. Through live chats, virtual events, and targeted sourcing, they help us bridge the gap between SoftwareOne seeking diverse talent and professionals seeking inclusive workplaces.
Why is this collaboration important? It's about creating opportunities and fostering an environment where all voices are heard. By tapping into PowerToFly's extensive network, we're not only expanding our reach for potential candidates, but also contributing to a larger movement for gender equality in tech.
We started our collaboration with PowerToFly in 2019 in the US, and this year…we went global! We have participated in virtual job fairs in NORAM, EMEA, LATAM and APAC, looking to bring the best and most diverse talent into SoftwareOne. Additionally, SoftwareOne NORAM has started to work with other talent acquisition platforms such as Sistas in Sales.
Our collaboration with PowerToFly and other platforms has resulted in SoftwareOne being recognised as an employer of choice, as seen in our recent inclusion in the America's Greatest Workplaces for Women 2023.
