SoftwareOne Academy bridges the gap between education and career by providing talented people educational programs, internships and employment across the globe. Successful applicants to the Academy earn a salary whilst receiving free training that covers a wide range of business and technical skills. The Academy is open to individuals from conventional educational institutions, apprenticeships and those who are experienced but are seeking a career change.

What is included?

SoftwareOne Academy is a paid employment opportunity combined with an extensive on-the-job training and educational programme to ignite your potential. We combine learning, support, hands-on training, and real-life work experience to equip you for a future in the tech industry. The training is entirely free. All we need from you is the commitment and passion to explore a world of opportunity.

Guided digital learning

We want to help you develop new skills that businesses demand, which is why we assembled learning experiences that deliver a blended curriculum of hands-on, virtual, live and asynchronous online sessions.

You will receive a diverse range of technical, language and soft skills lessons . SoftwareOne will design your pathway to equip you for a career in the technology industry.

And the best bit is that you can access the Academy any time through our online platform with your SoftwareOne mentor available as an in-person guide for any questions.

Expert support

We never leave you unsupported. Once enrolled, you will be assigned an industry-leading Tech Mentor who works at SoftwareOne.

These wonderful people are subject matter experts always on hand to help you, whether you need support, expertise, guidance, or a sounding board to ask questions.

Practical problem-solving

The Academy teaches more than hypotheticals. We want you to develop your problem-solving skills in real-life settings, so solving business issues will be a critical part of the learning environment you experience.

You will gain unique access to key business issues in collaborative team environments, and we encourage you to tackle real project challenges, and even fail, in a safe environment.

On-the-job training

Once you feel confident and capable, it will be time to get out of your comfort zone by applying your newly learned skills to projects with real clients.

You will shadow project teams and solve business problems in your cohorts. The Academy helps translate your knowledge into practical application.

Throughout the programme, students have a diverse range of experiences designed to help them learn, apply and contextualise their knowledge in the SoftwareOne workplace. Students get an incredible, unparalleled education, regardless of their background.

Who is the Academy for? People like you

Our Academy is educationally agnostic. We do not make distinctions between recent graduates from university, people who have completed apprenticeships and boot camps or have worked in an unrelated industry for the past 20 years. Whoever you are, and wherever you are in the world, we want to support your goals for a career in technology.

Experienced, seeking a change of scenery

You are educated and have years of experience, but recent events make you wonder whether your chosen career path is the right one. Join the Academy to explore the world of technology, enhance existing skills, and develop new ones.

Finishing school, ready for a challenge

We’re not looking just for university graduates (although you guys are welcome, too). We welcome people completing courses at technical colleges, polytechnics or any other form of traditional education. With nearly one-fifth of all graduates saying they do not feel “work-ready,” our programmes provide critical employability skills and prepare you for the world of work.

Apprentices ready for work

Currently studying at a community college or enrolled in an apprenticeship? We welcome you to apply to the Academy, and recommend that you do so at the start of your apprenticeship or in the final quarter of an educational program. This will ensure that you get the most from the Academy and are ready for the workplace.

Recognised by the EU Pact for Skills Consortium

After only one year of operation, the SoftwareOne Academy was accepted as a member of the European Commission's Pact for Skills Consortium. The Consortium is a growing community of organisations, training providers, associations and local authorities that make easy access to up-skilling and re-skilling a reality within Europe.

How to apply

As the Academy grows, we can offer learning opportunities in more countries. We made the application process as easy as possible. Please follow these four simple steps.

1. Share your interest
Tell us about yourself and what you want to learn at the Academy. We will get back to you to confirm your interest, then let you know as soon as the next program intake begins in your region.

2. Do a self-assessment
Our assessment process helps determine your business aptitude and technical skills. With that information, we can design a personalised learning program for your skill set that ensures you get the most out of the Academy.
3. Get ready for learning
Once you pass your assessment and the next program in your region begins, we’ll assign you to a mentor and provide your start date. Be patient, we will be assembling a cohort of learning peers.
