contact usThe Microsoft Customer Agreement is a simplified purchase agreement that doesn’t expire and will provide consistent purchase terms for customers, regardless of the way customers choose to buy. The Microsoft Customer Agreement is the new agreement for customers purchasing at Microsoft. Initially, it will replace the Microsoft Cloud Agreement in the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program. Microsoft plans to continue enhancing the Microsoft Customer Agreement for customer purchasing through all existing commercial sales channels.
The Microsoft Customer Agreement is available in all regions where the CSP program is available.
The new agreement can be used to purchase all offers available in the program. This includes the purchase of existing offers available under the Microsoft Cloud Agreement. Customers who purchase via the new commerce experience in CSP for Azure will be required to accept the terms of the Microsoft Customer Agreement. For the purchase of other offers in CSP, including the existing Azure offer, there will be the option to use the Microsoft Customer Agreement or the Microsoft Cloud Agreement during a transition period that ends on January 31, 2020. After the transition period, customers will be required to accept the Microsoft Customer Agreement for all purchases, including subscription renewals, in CSP.
Starting February 1, 2020, CSP partners will not be able to make a new purchase including changing seats and renewal of existing purchases without the acceptance of the Microsoft Customer Agreement from the customer.
The Microsoft Customer Agreement provides customers with a simpler, more flexible way to license Azure services.
For customers who accept the Microsoft Customer Agreement through an authenticated Microsoft portal, the agreement will be presented, accepted, and stored in a completely digital experience. These customers will benefit from streamlined purchasing since the same agreement can be used for purchasing across sales channels without the need to resign the same agreement terms again. They will also enjoy a more integrated contracting experience and a simplified agreement history, with new terms added dynamically to the agreement.
The Microsoft Cloud Agreement is the customer agreement previously used in CSP; the Microsoft Customer Agreement is the new version of the customer agreement for the program. Both agreements will coexist in CSP until January 31, 2020. Starting February 1, 2020, the Microsoft Customer Agreement will replace the Microsoft Cloud Agreement.
The most current version of the Microsoft Customer Agreement is publicly available here: https://aka.ms/customeragreement.
It is the customer’s responsibility to determine who is authorized to provide agreement acceptance.
All Microsoft products and services available for purchase under the Microsoft Cloud Agreement in the CSP program are covered by the Microsoft Customer Agreement.
Per CSP program policy, customers are required to sign the Microsoft Customer Agreement before renewals. Microsoft will not immediately enforce this technically to avoid customer downtime. Therefore, auto renewals will not be interrupted but customer will not be in compliance to policy.
