The Paramount Residential Mortgage Group (PRMG) depends on effective IT for success. However, its existing IT strategy and aging physical infrastructure showed vulnerabilities. It was time to modernize and take advantage of cloud services that would increase reliability and service performance across its locations. PRMG engaged SoftwareONE professional consulting services to provide strategic Azure implementation and migration guidance covering capabilities and hosting options. The review included appropriate application stacks for the implementation of successful Azure cloud migration. The results have reduced infrastructure complexity and expense while providing ongoing cloud support through SoftwareONE AzureSimple and PyraCloud services.

Paramount Residential Mortgage Group Inc. is a leading mortgage industry lender. It is a privately held US-based mortgage banker and residential home lender focused on helping borrowers purchase and refinance homes throughout the United States. Offering innovative products, cutting edge technology, and quality customer service since 2001, PRMG has grown to 2,000 staff and nearly 175 branches in 49 states.
PRMG relies on effective Information Technology for business success. However, vulnerabilities had developed with potential impacts on operations in 49 states. It was time to modernize the IT infrastructure. A new Cloud strategy was evaluated to increase reliability while better servicing the company’s dispersed locations.
PRMG expected that moving toward a cloud platform would deliver multiple business benefits. Beyond cost savings for hardware and software, the company could move from CapEx to an OpEx finance model. A hybrid structure also had the potential to reduce strains on staff and simplify implementation workloads. The challenge was how to analyze the cloud value and what resources could assist in making the cloud move.
As the PRMG IT team began their Azure cloud transition, they quickly realized they would need help. Expanding an already established relationship, Paramount engaged SoftwareONE professional services to provide Azure guidance and implementation services.
After a discovery workshop SoftwareONE consultants provided a Microsoft Azure proposal covering capabilities and hosting options, including a review of appropriate application stacks being to be migrated. PRMG, assisted by SoftwareONE consultants, established its key program objectives to be: Agility and Modernization, Cost Optimization, Manageability, Availability and Recoverability.
Using agentless discovery tools and a detailed questionnaire, SoftwareONE prepared the cloud move. A reference architecture was designed and executed, and the migration was undertaken with particular attention to key dependencies and quality testing that validated all systems after the move.
With SoftwareONE AzureSimple and PyraCloud services in place, PRMG now continues its Azure cloud journey, and SoftwareONE consultants remain engaged.
