The IAITAM Ace Conference wrapped up last week in Orlando, FL and we had a great show from the interactions at Booth #40 to standing room only at our presenters’ sessions to learning from the top peers in the IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) spaces respectively.
The overall theme of the conference was – The Building Blocks to ITAM Maturity – and the content and attendee interactions did not disappoint. As noted in our blog last month Dan Ortman, Microsoft Advisory Practice Lead, North America for SoftwareONE, held a session on, “Is SQL Licensing Really That Complicated? Yes!” In addition, Diane Conaway, SLM Solution Specialist for SoftwareONE, and IAITAM fellow, spoke on the topic of, “Congratulations! You’re Responsible for ITAM… Now What?” The rooms were packed – Diane’s was standing room only! – and the IAITAM organization has grown considerably over the years starting with a few dozen members in 2002 to over 1,000 attendees at just this conference last week. Clearly, the topic is complicated and top of mind, as industry peers need guidance, expertise and direction from the experts – SoftwareONE – when it comes to managing their own ITAM and SAM practices. To learn more about Diane’s talk specifically you can read her article recently published in ITAK that discusses how her co-presenter, Jan Blessum at Principal, moved through her ITAM journey from being assigned the task of managing to ITAM (and not knowing where to begin) to implementing managed services from SoftwareONE.
We look forward to a continued relationship with IAITAM and to next year’s conference. To learn more about our managed services in the area of ITAM and SAM be sure to tune in for our webinar this week – Get Your Assets Out of the Shadows on May 16th. Register today and thank you for visiting Booth #40 if you were in Orlando last week.
