New advancements in Microsoft security are broadening the scope of multi-cloud monitoring and enhancing multiplatform protection. This will help customers to proactively prevent breaches across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.

Microsoft has introduced spatial audio for Teams, aiming to enhance communication and alleviate meeting fatigue during audio and video conferences. Microsoft also launched Clipchamp which will become available to Microsoft 365 commercial customers through the targeted release program. This release will make it possible for anyone to easily and efficiently create videos to help streamline their productivity and enhance their work.

Microsoft Azure meets the growing needs of healthcare organisations with a highly scalable public cloud for Epic. New Azure Large Instances allows healthcare providers to manage large electronic health record database loads using public cloud-hosted infrastructure.

AWS launches a new infrastructure region in Israel. It is estimated that this will support up to 7,700 full-time jobs annually following a planned investment of $7.2 billion in Israel through to 2037.

Amazon Web Services has announced AWS HealthScribe, a new service that uses speech recognition and generative AI to create clinical documentation from patient-clinician conversations.

AWS announces the general availability of AWS entity resolution to help organisations improve data quality and customer insights. It also helps organisations easily analyze, match, and link related records stored across applications, channels, and data stores.

IBM has announced the upcoming release of Watsonx Code Assistant for Z, a generative AI-assisted product that will facilitate the translation of COBOL to Java on IBM Z. This product aims to accelerate COBOL application modernisation and will be available in Q4 2023.

Oracle announces the general availability of MySQL HeatWave Lakehouse, marking an industry first by enabling customers to query data in object storage as fast as querying data inside the database.

Citrix expands cloud and on-premises capabilities to support the needs of hybrid customers. This latest release is designed to increase operational and IT efficiency, provide more workload and device flexibility, fortify security, and improve employee experience technology.

Trend Micro launched a new offering designed to empower managed security service provider, service partners and pure-play managed detection and response (MDR) companies to build or grow their MDR and SOC-as-a-service offerings. This new program will further enable the global ecosystem of MSSP partners that customers rely on amidst a cybersecurity skills shortage.

In a collaborative effort, Microsoft and Epic are extending their partnership to accelerate generative AI’s impact in healthcare. This strategic collaboration can rapidly accelerate the availability of actionable AI-driven solutions for healthcare organisations.

Microsoft is expanding its Azure AI infrastructure, including the global availability of Azure OpenAI Service to provide businesses worldwide with unparalleled generative AI capabilities.

Microsoft, Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI are launching the Frontier Model Forum, an industry body focused on ensuring the safe and responsible development of frontier AI models. The Frontier Model Forum will draw on the technical and operational expertise of its member companies to benefit the entire AI ecosystem.

Amazon Web Services has expanded its Amazon Bedrock service, offering customers a wider range of fully managed foundation models (FMs) for building generative AI applications. The new capability of creating fully managed agents in just a few clicks allows developers to automate complex tasks.

IBM and Microsoft are expanding their collaboration to help clients deploy generative AI and offer expertise and technology to drive innovation in business processes. The companies are offering a new IBM Consulting Azure OpenAI Service, which allows developers and data scientists to apply large language models.

IBM plans to host Meta's Llama 2-chat 70 billion parameter model in its AI and data platform, watsonx. This collaboration supports IBM's strategy of offering both third-party and its own AI models.

Lenovo and VMware expand partnership to bring new NVIDIA-powered turnkey generative AI and multi-cloud solutions to every business and help customers more easily harness data to empower their intelligent transformation.

Oracle partners with Cohere to provide generative AI services. The partnership will enable organisations to securely train, build, and deploy generative AI models on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, leveraging its high-performance GPU cluster technology and low latency.

Trend Micro is reinforcing its commitment to educating the industry on emerging attack techniques and modern strategies through experiential threat insights at Black Hat USA 2023.
