Almost any organization that is using IBM software programs is required to implement and maintain IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT). The benefit of using ILMT is to make sure that you as an end user organization can take advantage of licensing only the sub-capacity of a server. The disadvantage is the burden to install and maintain ILMT following the contractual guidelines as defined in the Passport Advantage Agreement.
