Increased Performance for SAP on Azure

Experiencing multiple SAP problems, including poor performance leading to missed SLA’s, this retailer decided to migrate from its private cloud to Azure. SoftwareONE planned and managed the successful move to deliver optimized performance and resilience.

This major convenience store chain specializes in health & beauty products with retail outlets all over Asia. A key to fulfilling its mission lies in the company’s ability to maximize its SAP systems which control all its global financial, commercial, and supply-chain operations. Reliability of its SAP enterprise software is essential to management of core business operations.

With SAP implemented in a co-located private cloud the customer was experiencing numerous problems that ranged from performance to resiliency, and stability issues that led to missed SLA’s. Its other SAP systems had already been implemented in Azure and so the decision was made to migrate from the private cloud to Azure, too.

Based on the SoftwareONE SAP on Hyperscaler Cloud Services, SoftwareONE planned and managed the build of the SAP landscape and worked with the private cloud provider to obtain backups of all systems. Working closely with the retail company, SoftwareONE created a cohesive SAP migration plan, including both functional and technical testing. The Dev and Test systems were moved first, in order to finalize needed testing and to ensure that all systems were performing as expected. Finally, all production systems were migrated within the negotiated downtime window.
